The fabric's outside edges should be turned under to prevent fraying. A product that makes this easy is 1/4" Steam-A-Seam. This tape has two sides that are sticky. Adjust and readjust the tape as necessary, then press for a permanent finish.

- Press the Steam-A-Seam to one edge of the fabric.

- Pull off the Steam-A-Seam backing.
|
- Fold the fabric over the Steam-A-Seam tape.
|
|
|
|
- Hold the iron on the folded edge for about 10 seconds.
|
- Fold the fabric a second time, then press.
|
- Using a running stitch, sew the edges in place.
|
|
|
|
- Using Steam-A-Seam, finish the top edge of the fabric by folding it over.
|
- Pin the top of the project over a waist elastic.
|
- Use a back stitch to sew the waist band in place.
